    STALLHOLDER INFORMATION & APPLICATION
  • The annual Highlands Bushfest is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23, 2025. This event aims to celebrate and showcase the unique outdoor lifestyle of the Central Highlands region of Tasmania.

    Highlands Bushfest will feature a variety of outdoor activities typical to the region, such as fishing, hunting, camping, and other recreational pursuits. Additionally, the event will highlight local food and beverages, tourism opportunities, arts and crafts, music performances, and small businesses. Spaces will be available for catering stalls and for showcasing information, demonstrations, produce, arts, and crafts.

    Important information to note:

    • Upon submission and approval of your application, including a valid Certificate of Currency for public liability insurance and any required licenses, a tax invoice will be issued. 
    • Payment options include cheque, money order, or direct bank transfer.
    • Stall holders who need to cancel their allotted space must notify the Central Highlands Council in writing before October 1, 2025, to qualify for a refund. Please be aware that a $50 Administration Levy will be deducted from fees before any refund is processed for cancellations.
    • Please ensure compliance with these guidelines to ensure a smooth and enjoyable Highlands Bushfest experience for all participants and attendees.
    • EXHIBITOR’S APPLICATION FORM 
    • All questions must be answered thoroughly. Incomplete applications will not be accepted; you can save your application at any time by clicking SAVE at the bottom of the form to return to complete once you have finalised your documentation or requirements.                   • Stalls may be located on a mixture of surfaces.

                  • Highlands Bushfest does not provide lighting or structures but we are happy to help ahead of the event.

                • GENERAL INFORMATION 
                • SET-UP - Sites will be available for set-up from 8:00 am on Friday, November 21. The site will close at 5:30 pm. Stalls and sites must be removed by 3:00 pm on Monday, November 24. The site will open at 8:00 am. On November 22 and 23, the site will be open from 7:00 am. All stallholders and their employees must wear hi-vis vests on site during set-up and bump out.

                  OPERATING HOURS
                  Saturday, November 22: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
                  Sunday, November 23: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

                  Stalls and sites must be staffed from 8:45 am each day.

                  MEDIA - Media will cover Highlands Bushfest. Requests for interviews should be honoured as this promotion will greatly benefit Highlands Bushfest and your site.

                  STALLHOLDER SUPPORT - Stallholder support during the two days of the festival can be found at the Central Highlands Council information tent.

                  RAFFLE DONATIONS/PRIZES - Highlands Bushfest is all about outdoor-friendly vibes and community spirit. Each year, the council runs a lucky gate prize and a raffle—any donations are gratefully accepted, if you would like to donate something please email our Bushfest Coordinator ncove@centralhighlands.tas.gov.au.

                  NIGHT SECURITY - The venue will be floodlit, locked, and secured at 4:30 pm. A night security service is provided, and the venue will be patrolled between 3:00 pm and 9:00 am. Please be aware that Highlands Bushfest and Central Highlands Council do not carry insurance for theft, loss, or damage on behalf of the exhibitors. Exhibitors should arrange their own insurance if required.

                  BANKING - The Highlands Bushfest office will provide limited change; however, please arrange to have a sufficient supply of change before you come, as we cannot guarantee availability.

                  CREDIT CARD FACILITIES - Highlands Bushfest does not supply credit card facilities. Stallholders wishing to use such facilities need to arrange them at their own expense. A satellite ATM will be available at the venue.

                  EXHIBITOR CAR PARKING - Limited parking for site holders is available at the southern end of the Recreation Ground, with overflow parking in the lot directly opposite. For everyone's safety, there is strictly NO vehicle access to any part of the recreation ground after 8:30 am each day (Council and emergency vehicles exempt). Stallholders must relocate their cars before this time.
                  Strictly no camping on site.

                  STORAGE - Highlands Bushfest does not supply any storage facilities to stallholders.

                  LIFTING FACILITIES - Highlands Bushfest does not supply any lifting facilities to stallholders.

                  ANIMALS ON SITE - No animals/pets, except disability dogs, dogs performing in the arena, or animals in live displays, are permitted within the Highlands Bushfest venue.

                  PRIVACY - Exhibitors should be advised that their name, trading name, address, and telephone number will be placed in the Highlands Bushfest program and on the Central Highlands Council website. Should you not wish for this information to be divulged, notify Central Highlands Council in writing, and only your trading name will be advertised.

                  APPLICATION FORM - All questions must be answered completely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

                  WORKING EXHIBITS & LIVE DISPLAYS - Highland Bushfest values working exhibits and live displays and designated areas have been allocated for these displays. Working exhibits and live displays add to the atmosphere of Highlands Bushfest and attract a more discriminating audience.

                • APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF A TEMPORARY FOOD OUTLET 
                  • Food and beverage operators who do not currently hold a Tasmania Council Food Van Licence will need to complete the Temporary Food Application and either upload or email a copy to ncove@centralhighlands.tas.gov.au. If you are already licensed, you do not need to complete this form; however, you will need to provide evidence of your relevant Council van approvals and licenses for operation in the section provided below. This applies to anyone wanting to sell food on the day as a one-off event, including a charity or community group.
                  • Central Highlands Council is yet to affect a formal municipality single use plastics ban however we strongly encourage Food Van operators to avoid using single use plastics and instead make the change to compostable products.
                  • It is recommended all food operators familiarise themselves with the CHC Health Catering Policy to ensure you understand the requirements for healthy catering.

                • I/We agree to abide by all the conditions set out herein. I/We consent to my/our name(s), address, telephone number and trading name being published in the Highlands Bushfest program and on the Central Highlands Council website. I/We understand that I/we may withdraw that consent by notice in writing to Central Highlands Council, in which case publications produced after that notice is compiled and received will only contain my/our trading name.
