  • 2025 Call for Volunteers

  • The American Academy of Pain Medicine relies on the expertise and passion of our members to drive progress in Pain Medicine. We seek volunteers to serve on select committees.

By joining one of these dynamic groups, you will collaborate with thought leaders, develop your professional skills, and help shape the future of pain medicine. Whether you're interested in research, education, advocacy, clinical guildelines, or innovation, we have a role for you!

    Open Committees Seeking Volunteers

    • Pain Medicine Policy Committee: Join our growing policy leadership team to protect patient access and advance fair pain care coverage. We especially welcome members with experience in interventional pain medicine, such as peripheral nerve stimulation, spinal cord stimulation, and other innovative therapies.
    • Research Committee: Help shape the Academy’s research agenda, contribute to publications and grants, mentor future pain researchers, and collaborate on impactful projects. Positions include Executive Sub-Committee roles, early-career and resident liaisons, and leadership pathways for advancement.
    • Media & Public Relations Committee: Bring your creativity to support our communications and social media efforts. This committee collaborates with AAPM staff and our social strategist to expand our audience, promote our podcasts, launch new content, such as the Pain Medicine Blog, and amplify the Academy’s voice in the media.
    • Ethics Committee: Support AAPM’s mission to promote the highest ethical standards in pain medicine. The Ethics Committee guides and educates members on ethical concerns, including reviewing and refining our conflict of interest (COI) policies, to foster trust, integrity, and professionalism across our community.

Requirements: All committee volunteers must have an active AAPM membership and be ready to collaborate, contribute ideas, and help shape the Academy’s future.

AAPM is committed to providing meaningful leadership opportunities for all members. By volunteering, you’ll shape initiatives and play an active role in advancing the field of pain medicine.
