ABOUT. Art by the Foot is an annual juried art show of small works, measuring 12in or smaller. These small works are the perfect addition to or start to your art collection. 100 works of art in various mediums will be accepted, and awards for juror choice will be given at the reception on November 14, 2025. People's choice will be announced in early December to allow more time for voting.
MEDIA. Each artist can submit Up to (3) Entries.
ELIGIBILITY. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and reside in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, and Iowa to be eligible to enter the competition.
- Artwork must be under 12in or 1ft in all dimensions (W X H X D). Frames may not add more than 4in to the Width or Height of the work. Artwork that exceeds the frame allowance of 4in will be rejected and not displayed by the CVA.
- Artwork included in Art by the Foot must be available for purchase. The show is designed to encourage art collection, therefore NFS (Not for Sale) will not be allowed. A sales commission of 30% of the sale price will be retained by the CVA. Payment will be made to the artist after the exhibit closes.
- All work must arrive ready for hanging or installation.
The gallery uses a track system for 2-D artwork. Artwork should be able to hang from a wire, picture ring, or other compatible hanging methods. Works on paper can be hung with magnets with prior approval. Check with the curator if unsure.
- Art must NOT have been shown before at the CVA.
- Art MUST be original and created within the last two years
- Work left at the CVA 30 days after the exhibit ends, where no return shipping arrangements are made, will become the property of the CVA.
- The CVA reserves the right not to display work that fails to meet expectations.
- Artwork must be original to the artist.
SALES. If a piece of artwork is sold, a sales commission of 30% of the sale price will be retained by the CVA. Sold works must remain in the gallery the entire length of the exhibit. Payment will be made to the artist after the exhibit closes.

JURY: This Exhibit Features a Jury made up of Community Arts leaders, creative business owners, CVA Curator of Art, and CVA Shop Coordinator.
