Entries to cover work from the 2024-25 season.
The LOVERACING.NZ Award for Contribution to Media, Digital & Content is open to all journalists, broadcasters, writers, photographers and content creators, including those working in social and digital media, who are based in New Zealand.
We welcome submissions from across the media and content landscape, including innovative storytelling methods, multimedia formats and creative audience engagement. Entries can be submitted by the entrant or nominated by a third party.
Entry Criteria:
- Submit a portfolio of 3 to 5 racing-related content pieces.
- You may include a supporting statement (max 300 words), offering context for your entry. This can cover:
- Creative process and intent
- Resources and time invested
- Reach, impact or audience response
Accepted Formats:
Please ensure all files are clearly named and meet the format guidelines below:

How to Submit:
- All files should be submitted via a cloud sharing platform (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, WeTransfer, etc.).
- Please email your entry link to: sarah.howard@nztr.co.nz
- Ensure your shared folder includes:
- All required content pieces
- Your optional supporting statement (PDF or Word document)
- A cover note with your name, contact details and media outlet (if applicable)
The judging will be undertaken by an NZTR Panel and the winner will be presented with the LOVERACING.NZ Award for Contribution to Media, Digital & Content at the New Zealand Thoroughbred Horse of the Year Awards on Sunday 7 September 2025. The black tie-dinner will be held at the GLOBOX Arena, Claudelands Events Centre, Hamilton.
