Projects

You may apply for a grant covering two projects on the same house. However, you do not receive separate full grants for each project — the total grant is calculated based on the combined eligible costs, subject to the grant percentage for the year and the annual maximum.

Owner/Applicant Declarations and Agreements
As the property owner, or as an authorized agent acting on behalf of the owner, for the property to which this application for a grant is being made, I hereby declare and agree to the following:
- I have read, understood, and will comply with the Victoria Heritage Foundation (VHF) Application Guidelines and Requirements.
- I have read, understood, and will adhere to the applicable VHF Rehabilitation Requirements.
- I hold current comprehensive home insurance and will provide proof upon request.
- There are no outstanding taxes or other monies owed to the City of Victoria (excluding participation in the Province of BC Tax Deferment Program).
- I am not involved in any zoning or bylaw disputes with the City of Victoria (acknowledging that disputes may exist that are unknown to the owner).
- I will obtain all necessary authorizations and permits from the City of Victoria prior to commencing any work.
- I acknowledge that Heritage Alteration Permits are approved by the City of Victoria and are independent of the VHF. Work approved by the City may not necessarily qualify for a VHF House Grant.
- I will not commence any work without receiving written approval from the Victoria Heritage Foundation.
- I will employ only the consultant and/or preferred contractors identified in this application.
- I confirm that neither I nor any immediate family members have any personal or professional affiliation with the consultant and/or any of the preferred contractors or companies that provided quotations submitted with this application.
- A City of Victoria heritage plaque is installed on the property.
- I grant the Victoria Heritage Foundation (VHF) the irrevocable right to use photographs and documents submitted with this application for educational and promotional purposes, including in print, online, and social media materials.
- A VHF sign acknowledging the grant will be prominently displayed while work is underway or for a minimum of ten (10) days, whichever is greater.
- I authorize representatives of the Victoria Heritage Foundation to go onto my property for the purpose of inspecting the exterior of the house in relation to this application.
- I understand that the grant may be cancelled if the work is not started or completed within the required timeframes.
- I have read, understood, and will comply with the VHF Zero-Tolerance Policy for Bullying and Harassment.
- I will not involve the VHF in any disputes or actions between myself and any contractors, employees, workers, or agents engaged in the work.
- I acknowledge that the grant is allocated to the property and not to the owner, and that if ownership changes, the grant allowances and conditions will remain with the property.
- I understand that submission of this application does not guarantee funding, and that all grants are subject to available funds and final approval by the Victoria Heritage Foundation.
