Whitewater Kayaking Event - Chattooga River (Thrifts to Woodall)

Date: July 19, 2025 I Time: 10:30 AM - approximately 6:00 PM

I, the undersigned, understand that whitewater kayaking, particularly on the Chattooga River from Thrifts to Woodall, involves inherent and significant risks, including but not limited to: swift currents, hydraulic features, rocks, submerged objects, equipment failure, capsizing, collisions, injury, or even

Assumption of Risk: I hereby voluntarily assume all risks of injury or harm to the minor participant associated with participation in this event. I acknowledge that participation requires physical fitness and prior experience, including a consistent whitewater roll.

Participants must be at least 12 years old and have a reliable whitewater roll. All minors must be capable of paddling Class III whitewater under supervision and follow all safety instructions.

All participants must bring and use the following safety gear:

• U.S. Coast Guard-approved Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
• Whitewater kayak or inflatable in good condition
• Proper footwear and appropriate clothing for river conditions
• Throw rope
• Kayak helmet
• Whitewater paddle/hand paddles

In the event of injury or emergency, I authorize event leaders and volunteers to secure medical care, including transport and treatment, for the minor participant. I agree to be responsible for any medical costs incurred.

I release and discharge the organizers of Paddle In Pink - SHEtooga, their volunteers, event sponsors, landowners, affiliates, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising from participation in this event. This release applies even if injuries occur due to negligence.

I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor named above. I have read this waiver and understand its contents. I knowingly and voluntarily agree to these terms.
