Final Chamber Music Concert at Glendale City Church: Saturday March 21, 2026

Final Large Ensemble Concert at Zipper Hall: Friday May 15, 2026

Application Requirements:

Pianists, violinists, violists, cellists, classical guitarists and flutists ages 7 and up are welcome to apply. Exceptions can be made; please visit our website for more detailed information.
Students must be able to attend on Saturdays of Pre-College taking place in Alhambra, California
Application fee of $125 must be submitted to complete the application. The fee is non-refundable.

Audition Information:

Two contrasting pieces (ie. Baroque or Classical AND Romantic or 21st Century) or one major work that demonstrates the technical and musical range of the applicant. Piano accompaniment is not required.
Be mindful that the audition for Prep is more about learning about the level of the student and their abilities. You do not have to feel lots of pressure to play at a very high level of preparedeness!
String players should bring a pianist for works that require accompaniment.
Bring at least one copy of your music for the jury
Live audition strongly preferred over online/video audition; exceptions over a live audition will be made on a case-by-case basis. Please email info@friedmusic.com for your reasons when you send in the application.
Be prepared for the jury members to make some comments and work with applicant for a few minutes
Junior Chamber Music:
- All applicants will be applying for JCM alongside Pre-College Preparatory and do not need to fill out a separate application form or re-audition.
- The application fee reflects the fee for applying for two programs.
