      EXPECTATIONS

Students must sign in upon arrival for their lesson at School of the Arts to ensure our records are accurate and all students are accounted for in the buildling.

A lesson will not be extended if a student is late.

If the student is more than 10 minutes late the lesson will be cancelled.

      ABSENCE / CANCELLATIONS

Regular attendance for lessons is expected.  Students are charged for all lessons, including those missed due to absence of any kind (vacation, illness, and extracurricular activities etc.). As a courtesy to your teacher, a student should notify the teacher in advance regarding any absence.  This prior notification does not exempt the student from payment.  Teachers are not required to give make up lessons when a student is absent.

If a teacher is absent, the lesson will be rescheduled and take place before recitals are performed (if possible). Missed makeup lessons will not be rescheduled.

Lesson times are firm, and cannot be extended if a student arrives late.  Scheduled public holidays do not mean private lessons are cancelled.  Please refer to the website or the School of the Arts calendar for details.

      INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors go through the highest level of scrutiny. They must possess a proven track record for teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.

Each instructor has received a background check by Pathfinder School of the Arts, but parents/guardians have the option of being in the room with their child during the lesson.

School of the Arts reserves the right the reassign a student to a different instructor in exceptional circumstances.

In special cases, a parent/guardian may be asked to attend lessons if an instructor requires it.

      PRACTICING AND RECITALS

School of the Arts believes that establishing a regular habit of practicing outside of lesson time is very important to the growth of our student(s). We encourage our families and instructors to come up with a practice schedule that encourages students to work diligently to grown in their skills, and come prepared to each lesson.

School of the Arts holds a recital at the conclusion of our fall and spring sessions for ALL of our students, no matter their skill level.  We highly encourage our students to perform in our recitals to showcase what they have been working on during the session.
