  • About Vortex Gallery

  • Vortex Gallery is run by volunteers who commit their time and dedication to help plan, produce and ultimately run many of the official, and un-official tournaments throughout the year at events all across the FGC.

This year, we've partnered with Frosty Faustings to give the spotlight to underrepresented games at a grand in-person event in the midwest! Vortex Gallery at Frosty Faustings XVI is the official host of community/side events in the venue, with dedicated ballroom space and streams!

Vortex Gallery is managed by 956Productions, a small team of experienced Event Organizers who seek to provide a stage & spotlight for underrepresented games!

This year's lineup is built by and for the community, we are seeking volunteers to take the lead on their favorite games and others to help report scores and commentate streams. Basically, if you're down to help out, we could use you on the squad!

  • About Vortex Gallery Online

  • Vortex Gallery is run by volunteers who commit their time and dedication to help plan, produce and ultimately run many of the official, and un-official tournaments throughout the year at events all across the FGC.

Once again, we will be running an *online* tournament series this year, with the same spirit of giving the spotlight to underrepresented games.

Vortex Gallery is managed by 956Productions, a small team of experienced Event Organizers who seek to provide a stage & spotlight for underrepresented games!

While running brackets and streaming tournaments is our group's focus, we are also looking for volunteers to help report scores, commentate, moderate chats, and more. Basically, if you're down to help out, we could use you on the squad!

Note: Commentators, Chat Mods, Restreamers, Social Support & Translators no longer need to fill out a volunteer form & only need to be vetted by the Lead TO or Streamer!

  • New This Year: Regional Weekends!

  • This year, we're changing things up by giving a spotlight to individual regions within our usual month-long takeover of the online FGC! Here are the key details:

VGOn25 takes place over 3 Weekends, starting from August 29th to September 14th.

    • Weekend 1 (Aug. 29–31): Asia + SEA + OCE - Based on Japan Time (JST)
    • Weekend 2 (Sep 5–7): Africa + Europe + South America + Latin America North - Based on Central Euro Time (CET) and Brasilia Time (BRT).
    • Weekend 3 (Sep. 12–14): North America  - Based on Pacific Time (PT).
    • Global or Cross-Region tournaments can play in any weekend!

In addition, each tournament should have a start time within 4 PM to 9 PM of each region's local time on the weekend (this includes Cross-Region and Global events). This way we can provide a non-stop flow of action to our viewers over the weekend & ensure that 956P can provide the level of support for your events that is a staple of Vortex Gallery. The goal is to uplift everyone together!

  • Commitment & Obligations

  • Our main goal with Vortex Gallery is to run a fun, inclusive & smooth running tournament series. This entails some commitments and responsibilities.

This includes (but is not limited to):

    • Actively checking into the staff discord for notifications about Vortex Gallery.
    • Maintaining confidentiality of any information that is not public.
    • Participation in staff meetings leading up to the event to discuss Vortex Gallery planning.
    • Promoting and creating an inclusive and safe environment for all staff members, tournament entrants and other event attendees.
    • Being responsible for fulfilling all the duties of your role, and working with others to run a timely, safe and fun event.

Please note that if any of these commitments are not held, 956 Productions reserves the right to remove you from Vortex Gallery staff.

If you can rock with that, roll on thru!

  • ⚠️ NOTE: NEW GAME APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED! ⚠️

The lineup for this year's event is locked! We are only accepting volunteer applications at this time!

  • Volunteer Info

    Let's get the basics down.
  • References

    Who sent ya?
  • All of our events are run by groups of volunteers dedicated to running a fun and well-organized event for their communities & regions. Please note that 956P fully expects every event to have a full squad of volunteers to run an event, with at LEAST 1 person each doing the following roles: A Lead TO, a Streamer & a Commentator.

Ideally, an event's squad would consist of 4–7 people, with the aforementioned roles (with 2 commentators), as well as a dedicated Bracket Runner & a chat moderator.

If you've been referred by other VG volunteers, or are applying along with others, make sure to add them as references or related volunteers below.

  • Squad Up!

All of our events are run by groups of volunteers dedicated to running a fun and well-organized event for their communities.

Ideally, an event's squad would consist of 1–2 people: a Lead TO, & a Bracket Runner as necessary to help out.

    Will it be streamed?

Frosty's teams will be streaming for the Finals (Top 4 or Top 8) for ALL games. Unfortunately, streaming pools will not be feasible due to space/bandwidth constraints.

    Rep your Crew!
Whether if you've been referred by the Lead TO of a game to help out, or are applying for a New game along with others, make sure to add everyone you're working with as references or related volunteers below.

  • For All Volunteers (Especially those applying for events that already have been confirmed or are applying under support roles)

If there are any {eventName} staff members who have already been accepted that have specifically referred you, please list their tags below.

  • Choose Your Destiny

How would you like to help out? Select the Games you'd like to help out with, & the role you'd like to play in that tournament's staff.
  • A few Important Notes:

    • Bring Your Squad: Note that we require an adequate number of volunteers to ensure a smooth and successful tournament. i.e. We require at least one Lead TO & one Streamer for each tournament. Larger tournaments will need more Bracket Runners to assist with running pools. Sound the alarm & get your squad all signed up at the same time for the quickest route to acceptance to Vortex Gallery!
    • Do What You Can: You may help out with multiple events, but focus on the games you care/know the most about, i.e. don't just tick everything if you don't have any experience with those games.
    • Don't Overwork!: Make sure you aren't overburdening yourself. In order to run a smooth event, we request for Lead TOs & Streamers to be 2 different people. Also don't sign up to lead/commentate a ton of games…ask the community for help!
    • Game not listed? No Problem!: Please note that this list of games are strictly ones that have been run at Vortex Gallery in the past. A game's presence (or lack thereof) does not confirm or deny if it will appear on the final Vortex Gallery lineup. If the game you'd like to help with is not listed here, please enter the game title(s) in the "Other" section.
  • Games

    • Don't Overwork!: Make sure you aren't overburdening yourself. Don't sign up to work for a ton of games & get burned out or have to drop out…ask the community for help!
