Policy: Timothy Lutheran Church facilities are not generally open to the public; however, we sometimes make our
facilities available to approved community groups and other non-members as a witness to our faith, in a spirit of
Christian fellowship that is consistent with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Executive Committee has approved the
following guidelines governing limited use of our property and facilities for non-church functions. Use will not be
permitted to persons or groups holding, advancing, or advocating beliefs or practices that conflict with the church’s faith
or moral teachings, which are summarized in, among other places, the church’s constitution and bylaws, in various
places on its website (www.tlcwoodstock.org), and on the website of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
(www.lcms.org). The church reserves the right to refuse use or entry into the facilities or grounds for any reason or no
reason.
This policy is to be primarily administered by the person designated by the Executive Committee, currently the Church
Secretary. If she is unavailable, any member of the Executive Committee may administer the policy.
Outside organizations that use our facilities (i.e., Girl Scouts of America) must provide a certificate of insurance
releasing Timothy Lutheran of all liability.
Please be aware:
1. Due to insurance requirements, a member of Timothy Lutheran Church must be on the premises when an
outside organization or individual uses the facility/grounds.
2. Availability. Church functions and member requests always take priority.
3. We expect users and attendees to treat our facility and grounds with respect, as this is the Lord’s house. A deposit may be required.
4. Not for Profit. The facilities and grounds may not be used for commercial purposes except for approved fund
raising activities.
5. Our facility and grounds are smoke free, alcohol free, and drug free. Organizations must ensure their members
and attendees comply.
6. These facilities are provided to individuals and/or organizations in accordance with current government and/or
health organizations guidelines.
7. Before leaving:
• Clean floors as required and check bathrooms for cleanliness.
• Empty all trash.
• Return chairs and tables to their original location.
In consideration of my use of the facilities of Timothy Lutheran Church, I hereby
agree that the Church shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injury or property damages
sustained by me or other participants in, on, or about the church facilities or equipment. I agree to assume full
responsibility for any injuries which may occur to me or other participants in or about the Church premises, or
while using or intending to use the Church’s equipment, including, but without limitation, any claims for
personal injury or property damage resulting from or arising out of the negligence of the Church, its agents or
employees, or the negligence of any other persons present on the Church premises.
