    • TRAINING DAY OPTIONS, THE 2-DAY/WEEK MICROCYCLE

The facility at West Bank is restricted to the following options:

      MONDAY & WEDNESDAY
      TUESDAY & THURSDAY

The Monday-Thursday combination currently cannot be accomodated during the AUGUST to OCTOBER Fall window, at West Bank Sports Complex.  This creates an overuse of space.

You are allowed to "request" Monday-Thursday below, but please understand the scheduler will assign your team to either Tuesday-Thursday or Monday-Wednesday, unless there is space available.  We recommend all teams choose a MON-WED or TUES-THURS option.

TRAINING DAY OPTIONS, THE 2-DAY/WEEK MICROCYCLE

The facility at West Bank has time restrictions:

5:30 pm or 7:00 pm start times.

The 5:30 PM start time allows the second session on the same field to being at 7:00 PM. This allows the 7:00 PM session to end at 8:30 PM.  This allows young athletes (and parents and staff) to return home at a decent time each night, keeping in mind most WSA Athletes are STUDENT-ATHLETES and train on "school nights".

Teams who train at 6:00 PM - 7:30 or 6:00 - 8:00 PM interfere with EVERY ATHLETE and will not be tolerated.

If you choose 5:30 PM you may begin your session at 5:45 PM or 6:00 PM or 6:15 PM.   However, the club will have set a team to train on your field at 7:00 PM.  This means the last section of your training session will overlap the beginning of your club-mates session and requires you to contact, communicate, and coordinate that overlap.  If the overlap is 15 minutes the accommodations should be simple:  The arriving team at 7:00 PM will "warm-up" in designated areas, which requires a small space, including the prep phase of warmup (typically technical or rondos).  The departing team will conclude their "end game" at 7:15 PM promptly providing the space back to the arriving team who will expand their session into the second phase.

It is important to note that training lengths are recommended as per research to NOT exceed the length of the match, unless the session includes film, whiteboard, team building, or elements that require lower levels of mental and/or physical stress throughout.   This means the U13+ sessions should last no longer than 90 minutes.
