The Black Police Officers Association of Omaha (BPOA) would like to invite you, your families, and friends to the 9th Annual "Student Celebration Day: Unity, Empowerment, Support" to be held on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Gene Leahy Mall, 1001 Douglas St, Omaha.
The Student Celebration Day is an opportunity for students from North, South, and West Omaha to participate in a community to celebrate education and promote unity among students all across the city. Last year’s event was a great success and we look forward to seeing even more students and families!
A major component of the Student Celebration Day will be the Education and Family Resources Fair. The fair will give student-based organizations from local schools the opportunity to showcase their involvement in their respective schools and communities. Additionally, we would like to extend an invitation to our valued community-based organizations and local businesses to come out and showcase their services and activities that support students and their families. This event will be free to the public and all organizations that wish to actively participate.
In addition to the resource fair, participants will enjoy free food, raffle prizes, bounce houses, face painting, music, and much more geared towards students K through 12 and their families. Representatives from the Omaha Police Department and the Omaha 360 Collaboration will be present to offer support and join in the celebration.
If your business or organization has services that support students and/or families and would be interested in having a display table or hosting a hands-on activity, please complete the following to register. All registration must be received no later than Wednesday September 17th. We would ask that all participating partners bring their own tables and supplies. You are welcome to bring tents as well, but you will not be allowed to use stakes only sandbags to secure the tent.
Thank you for all you do for our community and we look forward to your participation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Planning Team Chair, Lt. Marcus Taylor at (402) 813-1465 or via email at bpoaofomaha@gmail.com.
