  • 1. Welcome & Mission Statement

    Welcome to Cumberledge Academy. Our mission is to provide a supportive, high-quality education focused on nurturing individual growth and academic success in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Enrollment Admissions Policies

     

    Cumberledge Academy welcomes students who are committed to academic growth and personal development within our supportive learning environment.

    1. Complete and submit the Enrollment Form along with all required documentation.
    2. Submit applicable tuition payments or establish a payment plan prior to the start date.
    3. Review and sign the Parent-Student Handbook Acknowledgment Form.
    4. If applicable, request and complete a Student Support Plan (SSP) for learning accommodations.
    5. Attend a parent orientation session (optional but recommended

     

    Admission Criteria:

    1. Students must meet age requirements for their selected program level.
    2. Previous academic transcripts may be requested to assess appropriate placement, if available.
    3. Students and parents must agree to abide by the academy's policies and code of conduct.
    4. Cumberledge Academy does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, or disability.

     

    Late Enrollment:

    • Students may be admitted after the start of the academic year on a space-available basis.
    • Tuition for late enrollments is due immediately upon acceptance.

    Tuition, Payment, and Refund Policies:

    Full-Time Tuition: Premier $8,000 I Standard $5,000

    Part-Time Tuition: Core $2,000 (Half-Year)

    Payment Due Dates: August 1st for Full-Time; Two weeks prior to start for Part-Time

    Payment Plans Available (August-May) Late Fee: $50 penalty; possible disenrollment

    Refund Eligibility:

    Before Program Start Date:

    100% refund of tuition paid, minus a $100 non-refundable administrative fee.
    Within the First 14 Calendar Days of Program Start:

    50% refund of tuition paid.
    After 14 Calendar Days from Program Start:

    No refunds will be issued.

     

    Additional Terms:

    Optional add-on fees (e.g., laptop rental, materials kit, field trip packages) are non-refundable once the program begins.
    Payment plan obligations remain in effect until all outstanding balances are paid.
    Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the official withdrawal date.

    Attendance & Absence Reporting Policy:

    Parents must report student absences within 24 hours. Regular attendance is vital for academic success. Extended absences require prior approval.

     

    Academic Policies:

    Grading & Progress Reports: Progress reports issued quarterly.

    Academic Integrity & Plagiarism Policy: Students are expected to complete their own work. Plagiarism will result in disciplinary action, including possible failure of the assignment or course.

  • Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Policy:

    Students are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly at all times. Disciplinary actions may include warnings, parental conferences, suspension, or expulsion.

     

    Dress Code Policy:

    As most students participate from their homes, a formal dress code is not required. However, students should dress appropriately for all off-campus field trips and when receiving in-person support at the instructor's home. Clothing should be modest, clean, and free from offensive language or graphics.

    Technology & Device Usage Policy:

    Use of school-provided devices is a privilege. Students must comply with responsible technology use standards. Misuse may result in loss of privileges.

     

    Health & Safety Policies:

    Communicable Disease Policy: Students showing symptoms of contagious illness should remain home.

    Emergency Procedures: Emergency drills are conducted regularly. In case of emergency, parents will be contacted immediately.

     

    Field Trip Policies & Liability Waivers

    General permission for field trips is collected through the enrollment form. As all field trips are off-campus, a signed liability waiver is required prior to participation. Separate permission slips for each field trip are not required unless specified by the academy for special activities.

     

    Media Release Policy:

    Parents must indicate their consent regarding the use of their child's photos or videos for educational or promotional purposes on the enrollment form.

    Special Education & Accommodation Policy (SSP)

    Digital Learning Policy

    Cumberledge Academy utilizes a flexible online learning environment supported by parent- guided instruction. While live virtual classes are not held, students are expected to:

    Access and engage with online learning materials responsibly.

    Complete assignments by posted deadlines.

  • Follow responsible technology usage policies outlined in this handbook. Parents are encouraged to supervise their child's online learning and ensure a safe, distraction-free workspace at home. Cumberledge Academy offers personalized support through the Student Support Plan (SSP Parents interested in accommodations should request an SSP form during enrollment.)

     

    Anti-Bullying Policy:

    Cumberledge Academy is committed to a safe, inclusive environment. Bullying, harassment, or intimidation is not tolerated.

    Definition of Bullying: Any intentional act causing physical or emotional harm or disrupting the learning process.

    Examples: Verbal abuse, social exclusion, cyberbullying, physical aggression. Reporting: Incidents should be reported directly to a teacher or administrator, verbally or in writing. Anonymous reports are accepted.

    Investigation Timeline: All reports will be investigated within 5 school days. Consequences: Disciplinary actions may include counseling, suspension, or dismissal.

    Support for Victims: Counseling and academic support available.

    Parent-Teacher Communication

    Cumberledge Academy values open communication and encourages parents and students to address concerns promptly.

    Grievance & Complaint Policy

    1. Discuss the concern directly with the involved teacher or staff member.

    2. If unresolved, submit a written grievance to the school administrator within 10 business days of the incident.

    3. The administrator will review the grievance and provide a written response within 5 business days.

    4. If further resolution is needed, a meeting may be scheduled to discuss possible solutions.

    We are committed to addressing all concerns respectfully and professionally. Regular communication is encouraged. Parent-teacher conferences can be scheduled by appointment.

  • Withdraw Policy:

    Parents must provide written notice of withdrawal to the academy's administration.

    The official withdrawal date will be the date the written notice is received.

    Cumberledge Academy is committed to supporting student well-being. While we do not provide direct mental health services, we encourage families to utilize the following Utah-based

    Parents are encouraged to reach out if their student is struggling; we will work collaboratively to provide appropriate accommodations and referrals.
