Please read the following information carefully and confirm your agreement before proceeding with the application form.
About Us
The Cheyne Charity for Children with Cerebral Palsy is registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity Number 1122968) and will be referred to as ‘the Charity’ throughout this form. The charity is governed in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Charity Commission.
The Charity’s aim is to support children and young adults with a confirmed diagnosis of cerebral palsy. While we understand many families face a range of challenges, we are only able to consider applications where cerebral palsy is the primary or an additional diagnosis. Unfortunately, we cannot consider requests relating solely to other conditions. Please note that we can only accept applications from individuals based in the UK.
Grant Applications
To help us process your application, please ensure the form is completed in full and all requested supporting documents are provided. Incomplete applications may not be considered. Applications are reviewed quarterly by our Committee. At that stage, each request will either be approved, declined, or we may contact you if further information is needed.
As a small charity, we may not be able to meet the full cost of every request. Part-funding allows us to support as many families as possible within our available resources. We therefore encourage applicants to explore additional funding options alongside this application, including crowdfunding or support from other charities.
Please be aware that we are unable to provide grants for equipment or services that have already been ordered or purchased, and we cannot refund deposits that have already been paid.
All eligible applications will be assessed by our Trustees, who allocate grants fairly based on the charity’s criteria and the funds available at the time. Please note that funding is not guaranteed, and the Trustees’ decision is final.
In most cases, grant payments are made directly to the supplier of the service or equipment. If we are part-funding your request, we will need confirmation that the remaining balance has been secured before we can release payment.
The Charity reserves the right to withhold a grant if it finds that any misleading or deliberately false information has been provided, or if relevant details have not been disclosed during the application process.
