Teacher Materials Grant
Submit a 1-page document that outlines your proposed project. Describe how you would use the funds for projects or experiences that directly enrich students’ language, academic, and cultural learning experiences. ESL/ENL learners may be of any age or level. These materials should be for a project/activity/lesson that you propose in the application, and not for everyday classroom supplies (e.g. chalk, paper, etc.). Grantees will be required to submit an article about their projects to NYS TESOL for publication.

Example of Bio: Kelly Aldinger is a western NY native and a TESOL candidate in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program at Clarkson University, Capital Region Campus. Prior to her graduate studies at Clarkson, Kelly completed an undergraduate degree at the University at Buffalo, majoring in Spanish and minoring in Linguistics. She was an Americorps volunteer with the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, serving as an ELL Youth Mentor in the public schools of Salem, MA, an experience that inspired her to pursue graduate studies in TESOL. In addition to her service with Americorps, Kelly has volunteered with multiple organizations to support English learners and immigrant communities. She is currently teaching K-3 ENL in Elba, NY and in the 2020-2021 academic year Kelly will complete her requirements for NYS ESOL certification, graduating in the spring of 2021. Kelly is a passionate advocate for educational equity and inclusion.
