    July 26&27, 2024
  • Overview

The Tat Day Run starts on the Blanchard River just off the Haines Highway and runs through the Traditional Territory of the Champagne and Aishihik First Nations. Meeting the Tatshenshini after 6.5km, the run continues north to the Take Out at Dalton Post for a total of 24km of whitewater. This Yukon favourite provides various play features, incredible canyon views, and excitement at the Big 3 Rapids (Rock Garden, Big C, Twin Holes). There will be a club trip on both Saturday & Sunday.

As long as there is not another major dump of rain in the week leading up to the trip, it will mostly be class II to III+, an ideal level for rafts, pack rafts, and whitewater kayakers with a solid roll (NOTE: There will not be a possibility of taking the raft for the "Big 3" this year. If you aren't comfortable running them in a kayak, take a packraft!). YCKC will be bringing one raft, but may be able to organize a second based on need. If you need to borrow YCKC gear, you can pick it up from the YCKC Bins on Thursday, July 24th at 6:30 PM. For space in the raft, or to borrow packrafts please reserve on this form. If you miss out, packraft rentals are available at Yukan Canoe and Tatshenshini Expediting.

Please remember that all participants must have a current YCKC Membership, sign a 25/26 waiver, have the appropriate gear and enough food and water for a full day on the river.

Please use the YCKC Facebook page to coordinate carpooling. If you are not on social media, email exec.director@yckc.ca.
