LIFT Initiative: Requirements & Expectations
Participation in the LIFT (Leading & Inspiring Future T-Birds) Initiative is a privilege and a responsibility. As a role model in the Circle Recreation community, each participant is expected to uphold the values of the T-Bird Way — Teachability, Belief, Integrity, Respect, and Discipline.
By joining the LIFT Initiative, you agree to the following:
Requirements
- Must be an active member of the high school team for the sport you are assisting with.
- References and approval will be obtained from the head coach of your high school team.
- Must be in good academic and behavioral standing in school and athletics.
- Will be assigned to one Rec team for the full season and expected to build consistency and connection with that team.
- Will be required to sign the Circle Rec Coaches Agreement, acknowledging the responsibilities and standards outlined in this document
Expectations
- Attend at least 3 practices and 1 game with your assigned Rec team during the season.
- Log your attendance at each practice and game using the provided tracking form.
- Communicate in advance with your assigned Rec coach regarding which sessions you plan to attend.
- Actively participate in drills, support young athletes, and assist coaches during your time with the team.
- Submit a 1-page reflection at the end of the season describing your experience, what you learned, and how you grew as a leader.
