Existing Business Application

Purpose:
The Business Growth Grant program is designed to assist existing business owners in Jefferson financially to diversify and grow product lines and services. This grant is funded through a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation award for economic development.

Eligible Applicants:
Current business owners with a Jefferson address that have been in business for at least one year.

Eligible Business to be considered for Funding:
Any project that offers to bring a new service or product line to Jefferson will be considered. On-going and administrative expenses are not eligible.
Data is available at the Jefferson Matters office and can help guide what products and services may not be easily available in our area or those of interest to the population through recent surveys. Applicants may also meet with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) for a free consultation and provide proof of consultation. Go to https://iowasbdc.org/nci/ and click on red Request Counseling button, fill out the form to set up an appointment.

Terms & Conditions:
This is a 50% matching grant of up to $5,000.
Once project approval is received from the Jefferson Matters Committee through Economic Vitality Team, grant funds are available on a reimbursement basis only. Receipts or invoices are required. Project should be completed within a year from application approval date.
Photos of grant recipient at business location would be available for publicity & marketing purposes by Jefferson Matters.
Business Growth grant funds to be awarded as funding is available.

Application Procedure:
Complete the application questions and funding estimates for your business growth costs along with any estimates and/or costs- incurred receipts.
Include two letters of support with one being from funding source.
Include any photos of property and/or design of your business location with the added products/services.

The Business Growth Selection Committee will review the application and conduct an in-person interview with the applicant(s) before final decision.
