      Official transcripts from all post-secondary academic institutions attended are required. Official transcripts must be submitted by previous institutions to Claremont School of Theology (CST): If they are being sent electronically, request your previous institutions to send them to admissions@cst.edu. If they are being mailed, have your previous institutions mail them to: Admissions, Claremont School of Theology, 10497 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90024.

      You must send official transcripts for ALL coursework you have completed after obtaining a high-school diploma or equivalent. Failure to do so may delay your application process, as well as affect your eligibility for certain scholarships and admission to certain programs.

    • English Proficiency Requirement:

      Due to English being the language of primary instruction, applicants to all CST/Bayan programs whose first language is not English, must adequately demonstrate competency as part of the application process. Students whose first language is not English, or whose postsecondary degrees have been completed in a non-English language university program, must demonstrate competency by submitting TOEL, IELTS or Duolingo English Test scores. Please request for your official test scores to be sent to Claremont School of Theology (school code 4710).

      Requests for TOEFL waivers should be sent to the Office of Admissions at admission@cst.edu.

    • Recommendations:

      A minimum of three letters of recommendation are required: at least two must be academic or professional, plus one community recommendation from an imam, religious leader, mentor or other ministry professional.

      All letters must be specific in recommending the applicant for Bayan's doctoral program in Islamic Leadership. General letters of recommendation and letters from other current applicants to the DMin. program will not be accepted. Additionally, letters from relatives or family members, as well as more than one recommendation from the same institution or organization, will not be accepted.

      Academic recommendations should be from a professor who has direct knowledge of your aptitude for postgraduate education. Professional recommendations should be from someone who has direct knowledge of your professionalism and work ethic, and cannot be from someone who reports to you. The community recommendation should be from someone who has direct knowledge of your religious/spiritual journey and your aptitude for advanced theological studies.

      Important: Please enter your recommenders' names and email addresses carefully. After you submit your application, your recommenders will be emailed a link to submit their letter. If you do not enter their email address correctly, they will not receive the email. Please verify that this information is correct.
