Training Services Agreement

Dog Training Agreement
This Agreement is entered into by and between CPR Canine Training LLC (“Trainer”) and {Client Name} (“Client”).

1. Services Provided
Trainer agrees to provide professional dog training services tailored to Client’s goals, using science-based, humane, and effective methods. Services may include, but are not limited to:
Private training sessions (in-home, on-location, or virtual)
Board & Train or Puppy Programs
Group classes and community walks
Behavior consultations
Service/therapy dog preparation
Mentorship or handler coaching

2. Training Fees & Payment Terms
A non-refundable payment is due at the time of booking the first session (amount and duration detailed on the invoice).
For training packages, the full fee is due at the first session.
All sessions within a package must be completed within 180 days of purchase. Unused sessions after this period will be forfeited without refund.
Board & Train programs require a non-refundable deposit to reserve dates. The remaining balance is due by the end of the training period unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Client Responsibilities & Participation
Client understands that successful training depends on their commitment to:
Practicing daily exercises as recommended
Reinforcing behaviors consistently at home
Following Trainer’s guidance without modification unless discussed
Trainer will make every reasonable effort to support Client’s goals. However, due to variables beyond Trainer’s control (Dog’s history, environment, Client follow-through), specific results are not guaranteed.

4. Behavior & Safety
Trainer reserves the right to terminate services immediately if, in Trainer’s professional judgment:
Dog poses a safety risk to humans, other animals, or Trainer, or
Dog’s behavior prevents a safe and effective training process
In such cases, unused prepaid sessions will be refunded at Trainer’s discretion, excluding any non-refundable deposits.

5. Cancellations & Missed Appointments
Client agrees to provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule any session.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, or no-shows, will be charged the full session fee.
In packages, missed sessions without proper notice will be considered used sessions.

6. Liability & Indemnification
Client accepts full responsibility for any harm caused by their Dog during or after training, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless CPR Canine Training LLC, its owners, agents, and partners from any damage, injury, loss, or legal claim resulting from Dog’s actions.
Trainer is not liable for illness, injury, or death of Dog while in Trainer’s care or on Trainer’s property, except in cases of proven gross negligence.

7. Veterinary & Emergency Care (Board & Train/Daycare Services)
In the event of illness or emergency, Trainer will make every reasonable effort to contact Client.
If Client cannot be reached, Client authorizes Trainer to seek veterinary care at Trainer’s discretion.
Client agrees to reimburse all related costs, including transportation and treatment.

8. Media Release
Trainer may photograph or video training sessions for educational, marketing, or promotional use. Client grants permission for such use unless a written objection is provided.

9. Use of Training Tools
Trainer may recommend and use humane training tools (e.g., leashes, harnesses, crates, muzzles) as appropriate. All tools will be introduced with Client’s knowledge, explanation, and consent.

10. Entire Agreement & Modifications
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties.
It is binding upon Client, Client’s spouse or partner, and any household members involved with Dog’s care.
No verbal statements or promises outside this Agreement shall be binding.
Any amendments must be made in writing and signed by both parties.

11. Refund Policy
All payments for individual sessions, packages, and deposits are non-refundable once services have commenced.
Training packages are considered discounted commitments to a set number of sessions. If Client chooses not to continue before all sessions are used, no partial refunds will be issued.
Board & Train deposits are non-refundable and secure the reservation of dates. If Client cancels with more than 14 days’ notice before the scheduled start date, Trainer may, at their discretion, apply the deposit as a credit toward future services.
Refunds or credits for unused sessions are granted only at Trainer’s discretion in exceptional circumstances.
No refunds will be issued due to Client’s failure to follow training recommendations or lack of progress, as success depends on Client participation and consistency.

By signing below, Client acknowledges they have read, understand, and agree to the terms of this Agreement.

I, the undersigned ("Releasing Party"), hereby acknowledge that I have voluntarily enrolled myself and my dog in training services, private consultations, group classes, workshops, board & train programs, or related activities offered by CPR Canine Training LLC ("Released Party").

Acknowledgement of Risk

I fully understand and acknowledge that working with animals, particularly dogs with behavioral challenges, carries inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to:

Dog bites or scratches

Injuries caused by dog-dog interactions

Tripping hazards due to leashes or equipment

Emotional stress to the dog or handler

Transmission of communicable diseases

Injury to other persons, animals, or property

I understand that not all dogs will be under control at all times and that behavior is influenced by many variables, including environment, history, training consistency, and handler behavior.

I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to ask questions and express concerns about these risks with CPR Canine Training LLC and its representatives. I further acknowledge that I have inspected, or had the opportunity to inspect, the training areas or facility (if applicable) and am satisfied with the conditions.

Assumption of Responsibility

I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred to myself, my dog, my family members, guests, or property, whether on-site or off-site, during training, transportation, or related activities facilitated by CPR Canine Training LLC.

I understand and accept that CPR Canine Training LLC makes no guarantees regarding the outcome of training and that results depend on multiple factors including dog temperament, handler consistency, and environment.

Waiver, Release, and Indemnification

In consideration for participation, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, assigns, legal representatives, and successors, hereby:

Waive, release, and discharge CPR Canine Training LLC, its owners, trainers, employees, independent contractors, and affiliates from all claims or liabilities for injuries, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) that may arise from participation in any training services or activities, including claims caused by the Released Party’s own negligence.

Agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Party from any and all claims, suits, or legal actions brought against them by any third parties due to my dog’s behavior or actions during or after participation in training services.

Media & Photo Release (Optional)

Unless otherwise indicated in writing, I grant CPR Canine Training LLC permission to take and use photographs and video footage of myself and/or my dog for educational, promotional, or social media purposes.

Severability & Modifications

This Waiver and Release is binding and enforceable under applicable laws. If any portion is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.
No modification to this agreement will be valid unless made in writing and signed by both the Releasing Party and the Released Party.

Acknowledgment & Signature

By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understand this Waiver of Liability & Informed Consent Release in its entirety. I acknowledge that I am signing voluntarily and intend for this document to be legally binding.
