Brown University Library Health & Biomedical Library Services
  • Evidence synthesis experts from Health and Biomedical Library Services (HBLS) are available to collaborate with your research team on evidence synthesis projects. Research Teams seeking support must have at least one member currently affiliated with Brown University. Please refer to our Evidence Synthesis Service Guide for complete service and eligibility criteria.

After submission, you will receive an automated acknowledgement of your request. Within two weeks, a librarian will contact you to schedule an intake consultation to determine project feasibility, research question refinement, review methodology, and prepare you for your partnership with a member of our Evidence Synthesis Team.

The HBLS Evidence Synthesis Service is operating at capacity. Please note that you might experience longer-than-average wait times for higher levels of librarian collaboration. All requests will be processed in the order they are received and added to our waitlist. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Completing this form does not guarantee our involvement, nor does it obligate you to work with us. Evidence syntheses require significant time and collaboration, and we assess each request to ensure alignment with our expertise and availability.

Right Review guides you through a series of questions to help you choose a review type.

To learn about the many types of reviews, we recommend these articles

    • A typology of reviews: an analysis of 14 review types and associated methodologies

  • Seed Articles

Seed articles, sometimes called sentinel or benchmark articles, typically address your research question and meet the inclusion criteria for your project. A set of seed articles may also include things like literature reviews and evidence syntheses closely related to your research question, articles cited in those reviews, relevant references from your seed articles, or articles citing your seed articles.

Please upload a minimum of 5 seed articles relevant to your research question. You can also upload a document with a list of PMIDs or DOIs.
