  • Job Description:

    CRM is a faith-based, non-profit organization, serving the homeless in our community. The kitchen worker position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe food environment as well as keeping up with inventory from donations and food orders.

    • Maintains food supply for daily meal
    • Creates menus
    • Supervises receipt of food stores both purchased and donated. Counts all donated stuff and includes in a report for Gifts in Kind.
    • Maintains inventory system that tracks all food storage in pantry and freezers. Rotates food to assure it is used according to expiration dates, and maintains order in storage
    • Maintains records of food both purchased and donated, requisitions, and deliveries, donations and Gifts in Kind, and provides these records to his/her supervisor, alone with reports for Gifts in Kind.
    • Plan meal menu that optimizes food purchases and donations. Plan and supervise the preparation of meals for special events and holidays.
    • Coordinate and supervise preparation of all meals (including weekend operations). Adhere to USDA and the health department standards.
    • Follow practices of personal hygiene, food handling practices, and proper cleaning and sanitizing methods as described in the "Food Sanitation Manual."
    • Maintain kitchen security, which includes food storage areas and equipment operations. Responsible for the operation of all kitchen equipment.
    • Follow all accepted and normal staff practices regarding sicknesses, reports, job related problems and supervision.
    • Responsible for working with volunteers, delegating their responsibilities effectively, and treating them with appropriate respect.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1-3 years working in a kitchen environment
    • Ability to maintain empathy and care 

    Job Type: Part-time

    Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screen

    Pay: $13.50 per hour
    Expected hours: 20-30 hours per week
    Schedule: Shift will be primarily 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday
