The purpose of the ISPA Internship Program is to help aspiring spa professionals develop practical skills, gain industry insights and enhance their career prospects. Interns will have the chance to take on various roles and responsibilities, contributing to their education in the smooth operation of a spa.

To be eligible for the ISPA Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled in a relevant educational program (e.g., cosmetology, hospitality, tourism, wellness management, recreation management, exercise science)
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in the spa and wellness industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to commit to the full duration of the internship

The applicant must submit the following required materials (through this online application) to be considered. Please ensure you have the requested files ready to upload before moving forward with the application.  

• A completed internship application 
• One letter of recommendation
• A copy of your resume

If selected, ISPA will connect you with a member spa in the requested location and secondary location for internship.  This introduction will take place via email and include the program/internship coordinator listed on all communications and follow-up.    

Please note, not all properties will provide housing.  ISPA will do its best to connect selected interns with a property that meets their housing requirements.

One recommendation letter from someone who has known you in either a professional or academic capacity. The letter may come from a school advisor, supervisor, colleague, etc.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a relevant educational program (e.g., cosmetology, hospitality, tourism, wellness management, recreation management, exercise science) and are pursuing a spa management/spa leadership/spa entrepreneurial-related career.  Applicants show involvement in on/off-campus organizations or clubs and demonstrate leadership roles held in such organizations or clubs.
 
The internship will be limited to students enrolled in post-secondary educational institutions accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the international equivalent, or a certification program in cosmetology, massage therapy or another related field.
