  • Sunday Faith Formation & Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

    2025 - 2026 Registration for Preschool through 8th Grade. Meets Sunday mornings 9:30 - 10:45
  • St. Paul's Sunday Faith Formation & Catechesis of the Good Shepherd are offered to assist families as they grow in faith and life-long discipleship. They are structured to support on-going, progressive catechesis across multiple stages of development.

Children in preschool through kindergarten meet in our "Atrium" and learn through a Montessori approach called "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd."

Catechesis for our older children (first grade and up) is divided according to age range and occurs in a more traditional classroom setting.

All of the above age groups and families come together approximately once a month for a "Family Faith Day." On these dates, we learn together as a group with parents and kids working side by side.

Please note that sacramental catechesis (i.e. formal prepration to receive a particular sacrament for the first time) is distinct from Sunday Faith Formation and requires separate enrollment.

Parents are a child's primary catechists. In order to raise children in the Catholic faith, we ask that you commit to the following:

    • Attend Mass every Sunday (or Saturday evening vigil) and holy day of obligation
    • Spend time in prayer as a family each day.

These are necessary starting points in raising our children. Just as we personally need to live and grow in our Catholic faith, our children also need this example and guidance from us, their parents. Please know that your Faith Formation team is here to support you! Excellent resources for adult faith formation are available through St. Paul parish.

Annual registration fees for Faith Formation/CGS are $25 per child or $50 maximum per family. Financial assistance is available. We do not wish any family to be discouraged on account of fees. Contact Program Director Elizabeth Thompson for details, thompsone@stpaulcatholic.net

Each child in parish religious education must have a diocesan medical form completed annually. After submitting this form, please follow the link to the medical form page.

A diocesan media waiver is also required on an annual basis. All participating family members can be named and included on a single media waiver.

If these forms have already been submitted for this year's VBS or sacramental catechesis, duplication is not necessary.

I have read and understand the expectations of the Faith Formation program at St. Paul Catholic Church.
