Overview:
Thank you for your interest in becoming an SRBWI Young Women’s Ambassador for Cervical Cancer Outreach and Education. We're looking for passionate young women ages 15 to 22, residing in our target counties across Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, to join us in this vital initiative. As an ambassador you'll be a change maker raising awareness about cervical cancer and HPV prevention and access to sexual and reproductive health information among young people in your communities.
Throughout your ambassadorship you will work closely with the SRBWI Ambassador Coordinator and SRBWI staff, Cervical Cancer Researchers, Advocates, and partners to advocate for policies and initiatives that improve health outcomes for Black women.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Spend up to five hours a month on the following activities:
· Attend a virtual one-hour monthly Ambassador group meeting
· Organize and/or participate in cervical cancer and HPV awareness and advocacy events in your community such as Back-to-School Kick-Off, roundtable discussions, health fairs, etc.
· Deepen your knowledge about cervical cancer and HPV by attending webinars, interviewing a healthcare professional, or researching trusted sources to share with your community.
· Create and share information on cervical cancer and HPV prevention through social media, PSAs and other creative informational platforms
· Participate in SRBWI and Young Women’s Leadership Program events.
Compensation:
Ambassadors will receive $20 an hour for up to 5 hours of their time per month on the above activities.
