Priority Registration for Private Lessons has closed. We build our private lesson schedule from forms submitted by August 15. 

Forms submitted throughout the year are reviewed on a rolling basis as availability opens up.

Note: Please complete a separate/ additional form for each student if registering multiple students.

Scholarships

We offer various scholarships thanks to our generous donors:

• One22 Youth Enrichment Scholarship (YES): For K-8 students. TMS matches One22's award, potentially reducing tuition to 33%. One22 also helps with instruments and supplies. Apply with One22.

• Boundless Foundation: For students ages 8-18. Provides funding for extracurricular arts activities. Contact your school counselor for a referral.

• TMS Scholarships: Intended for grades 9-12 or multiple enrollments per student, supporting continued musical studies. Apply with TMS.

Timeline

After registering, it takes several weeks to finalize schedules and assignments.

We carefully match instructors with students to ensure educational goals are met while fostering an accessible, inclusive, and supportive environment tailored to each student's unique needs. This attention to detail takes time, and we appreciate your patience. There is an annual $50 registration fee for each student. You will receive a confirmation email via Pike13.

The minimum age for Private Lessons is 7.

Private lesson times are set for the full school year (September–May). Please share detailed scheduling preferences and constraints to help us find the best available match.

Priority is given to forms submitted between August 1-15.

The year is divided into three billing sessions. Tuition must be paid before each session begins. Lesson times cannot be changed mid-session. To request a schedule change or withdraw, submit your request by the published deadline before the next session starts.

• Fall Session - September 8 - December 20 (14 weeks)
• Winter Session - January 5 - February 27 (8 weeks) 
• Spring Session - March 2 - May 24 (10 weeks)

Some ensembles require an audition. Students wishing to enroll in auditioned ensembles must also be enrolled in private lessons to support their participation.

Scholarship Options

One22 - Qualifying students Grades K-8 can apply to One22 for a Youth Activity Scholarship. TMS matches the amount awarded by One22, with the family paying as little as 33% of the tuition cost. One22 can also help with the cost of instruments and supplies. Apply with One22.

Boundless - Qualifying students Ages 8-18 can receive support through Boundless, a private, local foundation that provides funding for extracurricular activities in the arts. Contact your school guidance counselor for a referral.

TMS - Qualifying students Grades 9-12 can apply to TMS directly for scholarship support. This fund is intended to support committed music students who age out of One22 support (after 8th grade) and wish to continue their musical studies by enrolling in multiple offerings, for example, rock band plus private lessons or younger students with multiple enrollments.
