On behalf of the City of Newport News, we invite you to join us for a hands-on Tree Inventory Training to support our ongoing efforts to map, protect, and care for the city's urban forest.
When: Thursday, July 24, 5:30 to 7:00 pm
Where: Newport News Park Shelters 19 & 20
Who: Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome!
During this training, you’ll learn how to identify and measure trees. You will also learn how to use online tools created by the City’s GIS team to to collect important data in real-time on your smartphone!
Your work will directly support the City’s tree management and sustainability goals. Whether you're a seasoned tree enthusiast or just curious about how you can help, we’d love to have you join us!
