    The aim of the food program at LUJU is to stimulate product and service excellence within Eswatini’s culinary industry by facilitating interactive regional collaborations, capacity development and indigenous food advocacy initiatives amongst upcoming and expert culinary enthusiasts. With a regional focus in mind, this festival environment is enriched with specialized food and environmental stewardship led demos and workshops that highlight the connectedness of tastes, texture and heritage for community upliftment. Each year, our culinary mandate re-roots in fostering partnerships with local and regional businesses and creative brands for a unified African centric food experience.

    This year, we unearth the potential of seeds that anchor sustainable futures. From ancient crop varieties to intergenerational wisdom, we celebrate and draw inspiration from how indigenous practices and people harmonized with nature’s rhythms. By reviving and cultivating these seeds of knowledge, heritage and biodiversity, we bridge ancestral ingenuity with contemporary innovation, making capital investments towards food sovereignty, economic empowerment, and culinary reimagining.
  • Food Indaba Topics : “Sowing Seed For The Future”

    An interactive and educational platform that takes the form of a Standard Bank blue table talk , where relevant stakeholders come together to showcase and explore various topics, artforms and culinary exploits. Seed for Sower; a Farmers Forum exploring “Seed Capital” into soil and Sower., discussing ancestral farming techniques vs modern agricultural practices as well as how to tap into start up capital for agricultural and native conservation initiatives supported with a seed bank installation + seed swaps.Panellists: Ministry of agriculture, Farmer, Standard bank , Environmental Authority, Seed Bank Centre.AI: Ancestral Intelligence : Centred on ancestral innovation and knowledge passed over time, and the seasonal gifts nature gives us; demonstration on sustainable foraging/harvesting practices, seed preservation, traditional food prep techniques and palaeolithic (nature based, seasonal) diets. By a horticultural chef, supported by a native pantry and traditional artefacts
  • Terms and Conditions

    • Applicants must be 18 years and older.
    • An Identity card will have to be produced on arrival
    • Applicants should have interest and are involved in the culinary space
    • Applicants must keep time
    • Applicants must attend the culinary demo on Saturday
    • Applicants are to stay for the whole duration of the Indaba Program on Friday and Culinary program Saturday
