  • BIG IDEAS Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports public school education, youth entrepreneurism, and overall community development programs to those who, due to circumstances of their lives, have faced disparities at a disproportionate rate. 

    We encourage the participation of volunteers who support our
    mission and are willing to contribute. The information provided through this form will be kept confidential and will help us determine the
    most satisfying and appropriate volunteer opportunity for you.

    Event Timing: August 2nd - 3rd, 2024
    - First Friday: Starts at 5PM (Table Check In & Registration deadline: 3:30PM)
    - Saturday: Starts at Noon (Table Check In & Registration deadline: 10:30AM)
    Event Address: Downtown Kansas City, Missouri

    Note: For some of the locations on the Bar Crawl, Staff & Volunteers may be be 21+ to be able to enter the premises. Please contact us directly if you need to be placed at a location that is not 21+.

  • Bar Crawl Volunteer Opportunities

    Choose one that best fits your' interests and experiences!
  • 1. Safety Monitor & Cleanup Crew (10 Needed Per Day):

    • Ensure the safety of event attendees by monitoring designated areas and promptly addressing any safety concerns.
    • Patrol assigned areas to identify and mitigate hazards such as spills, tripping hazards, or crowded areas.
    • Assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the event venue by promptly picking up trash, emptying bins, and ensuring proper disposal.
    • Respond to emergencies or incidents as directed by event organizers.
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and event staff to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

     


    2. Registration & Check In (10 Needed Per Day):

    • Greet attendees with a warm welcome and assist them with the registration and check-in process.
    • Verify attendee information, distribute event materials, and provide any necessary instructions or assistance.
    • Maintain an organized check-in area, ensuring smooth flow and minimal wait times for attendees.
    • Answer questions and provide information about the event, schedule, and any special instructions.
    • Coordinate with event organizers to ensure accurate attendee records and efficient check-in procedures.

     

    3. Route Guides (5 Needed Per Day):

    • Familiarize yourself with event routes and locations to provide accurate guidance to attendees.
    • Assist attendees in navigating through the event venue or designated routes, pointing out key locations and attractions.
    • Provide helpful information about event activities, points of interest, and amenities along the route.
    • Be attentive to attendees' needs and inquiries, offering friendly and courteous assistance at all times.
    • Collaborate with other route guides and event staff to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and optimal attendee experience.

     

    4. Event Set Up & Decoration (5 Needed Per Day):

    • Assist in setting up event spaces, including booths, stages, signage, and decorations, according to provided guidelines.
    • Arrange furniture, props, and other items to create visually appealing and functional event layouts.
    • Hang banners, install decorations, and arrange floral arrangements or other decorative elements as directed.
    • Ensure all set-up tasks are completed efficiently and on time, with attention to detail and quality.
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and event staff to troubleshoot any issues and make necessary adjustments.


    5. Merchandise Sales (4 Needed Per Day):

    • Set up merchandise booths or tables in designated areas, ensuring attractive displays and organized product presentation.
    • Greet customers, answer questions about merchandise, and provide assistance in making purchasing decisions.
    • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers or mobile payment systems.
    • Keep track of inventory levels, restock merchandise as needed, and maintain neat and orderly merchandise displays.
    • Provide excellent customer service, addressing any concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

     

    6. Mini Game Referee (10 Needed Per Day):

    • Oversee mini games and activities, ensuring fair play and adherence to game rules and guidelines.
    • Explain game rules and instructions to participants, answering any questions and clarifying rules as needed.
    • Enforce game rules impartially, making decisions and resolving disputes in a fair and consistent manner.
    • Keep track of game scores or results, announcing winners and awarding prizes as appropriate.
    • Maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere, encouraging participation and sportsmanship among players.
