2026 MAKER/MENTOR Exhibition Artist Application

Artists Working in Education (AWE) is thrilled to invite our incredible community of teaching artists, staff, program partners, current and past students to apply for this special juried exhibition that will open on November 12. The exhibition will be held at AWE's studio spaces located at 4315 W. Vliet Street. Through your dedication and talent, you have helped AWE carry out our mission for over 26 years and that is why we are dedicating our annual exhibition to you, the artists who help make this possible. Please heed this call for art so the greater Milwaukee community can see and celebrate your remarkable talents.
EXHIBITION OVERVIEW

Application Deadline: October 11, 2026 before 11:59 pm CDT

Exhibition Timeline:
- Notification Date: Artists will be notified of their acceptance status for the juried exhibition by October 15, 2026.
- Gallery Opening: Join us for the opening celebration on Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
- Exhibition Dates: Thursday, November 12, 2026 – December 18, 2026.
Artwork Drop-off
- Drop-Off Dates: Monday, October 19 9 AM - 7 PM, Tuesday, October 20 9 AM - 4 PM, Thursday, October 22 9 AM -7 PM, Friday-Sunday, October 23-25 10 AM - 2 PM 2026 at AWE located at 4315 W. Vliet Street.

SUBMISSION DETAILS

Eligibility: Open to AWE alumni, including former or current teaching artists, assistants, staff members, program partners, participants, founders and board and/or committee members.

Entry Fee: None

Submission Deadline: Friday, October 11, 2026, by 11:59 PM

Artwork Submission: Submit 2 to 5 pieces of artwork for jury consideration. Digital artwork is acceptable.
