About the Artist: Watercolour was Tammy’s first painting medium where she learned the use of layering to achieve rich, interesting colours. It is because of this knowledge that she has been able to grasp the concept of glazing with her acrylics to bring the colours of the land to life. She works in oil, acrylic and watercolour and her subject is usually landscapes or abstract. Her paintings are inspired by the beauty she finds in the natural areas around her home in Port Coquitlam and from sailing around the Indian Arm from Reed Point Marina in Port Moody.
Tammy began as a graphic designer, trained at Capilano College, and then taught art through various art schools for 20 years before starting up her studio called Poco Art Studio where she holds semi-private art classes and private lessons.
