Stop Taxing Fun - Keep Parks Accessible to All Logo
  • The Board of Supervisors is charging San Franciscans to use public amenities.

Public space shouldn't come with a price tag.

    What’s Happening:

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors just approved a slew of major changes: a $3 per hour parking fee in Golden Gate Park, a $5 per hour reservation fee for tennis and pickleball courts at 28 locations, and a $2 increase per nine holes at 5 golf courses. This marks a shift away from free public access to one of the city's most important civic spaces.

    Why it Matters:

San Francisco's public parks are meant to be open to all.  Adding paywalls in places intended for recreation and gathering is functionally less public for many.
