    Parent or Guardian required to attend

    • 1:00PM - Go over the schedule and what the academy is.
    • Sign any outstanding forms if needed.
    • Child can try on sample gear for sizes

     

    CLASS 1: JUNE 25TH
    (Drop off: 7:45 AM - Pick up at 12:00 PM)

    • 8:00 AM - 8:10 AM: Welcome to the academy. Expectations and general discussion.
    • 8:15 AM - 8:30 AM: Edith (Exit Drills in the home) discussion. General Fire Safety
    • 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM: Station tour
    • 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Ropes and Knots (children will be provided with ropes to tie different knots and shown how to use them)
    • 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Discussion - Bunker gear and SCBA drill demonstration and education from the firefighters.
    • 10:30 AM - 12:00PM: Go over Engine and Ladder apparatus and contents.

     

    CLASS 2: JUNE 26TH
    (Drop off: 7:45 AM - Pick up at 12:00 PM)

    • 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Search and rescue and forcible entry training.
    • 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM: First Aid training
    • 10:30 AM - 12:00PM: Hose training, Spray Water, Hydrant hook up.

     

    GRADUATION: JUNE 27th
    (Drop off: 7:45 AM - Pick up at 12:00 PM)

    • 8:00 AM - 9:45 AM: Children to show what was learned.
    • 9:45 AM - 10:00 AM: Graduation, thank the kids and parents for attending.
    • 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: Lunch

  • Firefighters, Paramedics, & EMT's from Hutto Fire Rescue serve as instructors for the Hutto Junior Fire Academy and will be with your child at all times. By signing below, you are allowing them to treat your child for illness or injury to their level of training if the need arises and allowing for their participation. Both parent(s) and attendees also agree to abide by all program rules and listen to and follow the request of the instructors. 

  • PERMISSION TO PRINT PHOTOS AND IDENTIFICATION:

  • I permit Hutto Fire Rescue and/or news media to print group photographs and identification of the above-named student on the Hutto Fire Rescue web page, Facebook page, newspaper articles, and or television programs. Identification of student on web pages will be limited to first and/or last name.

    RELEASE OF CLAIMS AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY

    , hereby consent to my child’s participation in the Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County ESD #3 Junior Fire Cadet Program. In consideration of the opportunity to participate, I acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Release of Claims and Waiver of Liability.

    I understand that my child’s participation in this program is voluntary and that the Fire Chief, or their designee, reserves the right to suspend or terminate my child’s participation at any time, for any reason, with no obligation to provide cause.

    I recognize that the goals of the Hutto Junior Fire Academy are to inspire an interest in fire service careers, foster character development, build self-esteem and confidence, and instill a sense of responsibility to the community, their families, and themselves. As part of this program, my child will receive basic instruction in various firefighting skills, including first aid, ladder handling, rope techniques, hose management, personal hygiene, ethics, character development, goal setting, and other subjects deemed relevant by Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County ESD #3.

    I acknowledge and fully understand that my child will engage in activities that carry inherent risks, including the potential for injury, illness, or even death, as well as possible exposure to pandemic-related illnesses, including COVID-19.

    On behalf of my minor child, myself, and our respective heirs, executors, administrators, successors, and affiliates, I hereby release and hold harmless Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County ESD #3, its officers, employees, agents, and affiliates, from any and all claims, demands, injuries, actions, or causes of action,
    whether at common law or by statute, arising from or connected to my child’s participation in this program.

    This includes, but is not limited to, claims related to injury, illness (including death), or loss of personal property (including loss of use).Additionally, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County ESD #3 and its employees, officers, agents, and affiliates from any claims or actions brought by me or on my behalf, or due to any injury, illness, or loss resulting from my child’s participation in this program. This indemnity agreement also covers all expenses, including damages, court costs, and attorney’s fees, whether arising in whole or in part from the intentional or negligent acts or omissions of Hutto Fire Rescue/Williamson County ESD #3, its officers, employees, agents, or affiliates.
    Furthermore, I confirm that I either have insurance coverage to address any potential injuries, illnesses, or losses that may occur, or that I have voluntarily chosen to allow my child to participate in this program without insurance coverage. I fully assume all risks associated with my decision to allow my child to participate in this program, including but not limited to bodily injury, illness, death, and property damage or loss.
    I have carefully read, fully understand, and voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this Release of Claims and Waiver of Liability. I enter into this agreement freely and with full knowledge of its contents.
