  • The Division of Humanities and the Arts is pleased to announce our annual Helen and Sydney Jacoff Scholarship thanks to CCNY alumnus Sydney Jacoff.  This $15,000 scholarship will be awarded to up to four graduating students pursuing master's or doctoral degrees in the Humanities and Arts. The scholarship will be paid directly to the institution in which the recipient will enroll.

    REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:

    • Pursued or pursuing a degree within the Humanities and the Arts Division.
    • Graduated or will graduate between May 2025 and May 2026 with a 3.2 cumulative GPA.
    • A copy of transcript - unofficial is acceptable.
    • One 250-word essay describing how you would use the scholarship, which will be paid to the graduate studies institution.
    • A copy of the personal statement of purpose that you submitted with your graduate school application(s).
    • One letter of recommendation by a full-time faculty member other than the department chair.
    • A copy of admission letter(s) from one or more graduate schools granting master's or doctoral degrees.

    • Letter of Recommendation

      A one-page signed recommendation letter from a current full-time CCNY professor within your major/degree program is required.

      The professor must e-mail the signed recommendation letter as a PDF to humanities@ccny.cuny.edu.
