    The Design Team of Jefferson Matters is offering this Grant for up to $1,000 to assist business owners in Jefferson to improve the exterior appearance of their buildings. The application must be submitted prior to beginning the project. The Design Team will review the application and vote on its approval for the grant.After the project is completed, the applicant provides receipts for materials and before and after pictures. Once the receipts and before and after photos are submitted, a check will be presented to the applicant.
  • The Purpose:

    The purpose of this grant program is to assist building owners in Jefferson in improving the historic exterior appearance of their buildings. Please review the Design Guidelines approved by the City Council in January 2016 attached below.

  • Eligible Applicants:

    Property owners in Jefferson.
  • Eligible Projects to be considered for funding:

    - Paint, tuck pointing, replacement of windows and doors, removal of non-conforming elements of a building.
  • Funding Requirements:

    - Maximum request is $1,000 per building and subject to available funds. 

    - Once facade project is approval is received, grand funds are available on a reimbursement basis only. Please provide receipts. 

    - "Before" and "after" photos need to be submitted prior to funding reimbursement. 

    - Will NOT fund labor costs of building owner but volunteers are available for some projects. 

    - Project must be completed one year from application date approval. 

    - Design Team approval is needed before your project begins.

  • Jefferson Matters, along with members of the Design Committee will make recommendations to the Jefferson Matters Board at their monthly meetings on projects to fund. Funds are limited to the amount budgeted for the year.
