  • PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION

    All prescription medication to be administered at Richland School MUST be accompanied by a MEDICATION AUTHORIZATION FORM completed by a healthcare provider.

  • Student Illness

    Children should be excluded from school if they meet any of these criteria:

    *Vomiting in the past 24 hours

    *The individual has diarrhea

    *Fever of 100.3 or higher (can return when fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications such a Tylenol or Ibuprofen)

     

  • Student Immunizations

    Please be sure your child is up to date on all required immunizations. 

    North Dakota Century Code  23-07-17.1 entitled Inoculation Required before Admission to School mandates that all students through grade 12** meet a minimum number of required immunizations by October 1st or they must be excluded from school.  These requirements can be waived only for medical, philosophical, moral or religious reasons with a statement on file.

    **This includes 4 year old students entering PreSchool at Richland Elementary.

    Please be sure the school has an updated Immunization Record on file.

    Publications for Richland #44 School District:  Website, brochure, Colt Connection or eNewsletters, Hoofbeat, flyers, yearbook, programs, and Facebook.

    The purpose of our publications and media platforms are to inform parents, students, community, and other educators about our school. We would like to include student photos in various media forms.  Because anyone can see these media forms, we would like to know if you choose not to have your child’s/children’s photos appear in these publications and media platforms.


    We limit the use of names attached to photos on our website and Facebook. In the event the photo promotes an award or acknowledgement, first or last names may be used, but not in combination (unless an initial is used to replace a portion) Ex: John; Smith; J. Smith; John S.


    Full names are used in the yearbook with school photo (yearbook is not placed online.)

    Full names may be used in the programs for sport teams, concerts, graduation, and similar events.

  • Richland #44 School District has many supporting organizations that actively promote and sponsor our students, staff, and community.

  • Release of Information

    In accordance with Section 8528 of the act titled Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), this school is required to provide names, addresses, and phone numbers of high school students to institutions of higher education as well as military recruiters. A high school student aged 18+ or the parent of a student under 18 may request the information not be released without prior written parental consent.

  • TECHNOLOGY 

    Richland #44 is a one-to-one school. All students in grades K-12 have a personal learning device.  

    *Elementary students may be asked to take their devices home from time to time.
    *Students in grades 7-11 use iPads and will likely take these devices home nightly, but will be required to have with them at school every day.

    *Seniors will use MacBooks this year and will likely take these devices home nightly, but will be required to have with them at school every day.

    While there is no technology fee for the use of these devices, there are fees in place for damage, theft, and loss of the device and accessories. The following fees for iPad incidents of all students have been implemented:
    *Accidental Repair Incident: $50 per occurrence
    *Lost or damaged charging block: $19
    *Lost or damaged charging cord: $18
    *If the PLD is irreplaceably damaged or lost, the student will be responsible for replacement cost.

  • Transportation Information

  • Student transportation is an important service that we value and continue to make a priority. The last couple of years, it has become difficult to pick up and drop off every student at home. We will continue to achieve this, but it is not a guarantee.

     

  • Bus Rules

    Parents, please review the following bus rules with students before acknowledging the form.

    Violation of these rules may impact bus service.  For a full list of expectations, infractions, and consequences, click here.

    1. Be Respectful
    - Follow the bus driver’s instructions the first time.
    - Share a seat and be kind to fellow students.

    2. Be Responsible
    - Keep the bus clean.
    - Use an “indoor voice level”.

    3. Be Safe
    - Stay in your seat, facing forward with feet on the floor.
    - Keep head, hands, and feet inside the bus.
