    All School Time Theatre Programs are selected with two goals in mind: education and quality. Many are based on familiar children's literature or historic character, emphasize positive values, or introduce students to unfamiliar art forms. All performances are open to the public.

  • Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus

    A TheaterWorksUSA Production

    Whatever you do, don't let the Pigeon star in his own musical production! With a script written by Mo Willems, the creator of the #1 New York Times best-selling, Caldecott Honor award-winning "Pigeon" picture books, and featuring music by Deborah Wicks La Puma (Elephant & Piggie's We Are in a Play!), TheaterWorksUSA‘s Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is even more fun than staying up late and having a hot dog party!

    It's not easy being the Pigeon-you never get to do ANYTHING! But when the Bus Driver has a crisis that threatens to make her passengers (gasp!) late, maybe that wily bird CAN do something. Featuring an innovative mix of songs, and feathers, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is sure to get everyone's wings flapping.

  •  The Nutcracker Act II 

    presented by the Kentucky Ballet Theatre

    December 3, 2025                  @ 10 AM (EST) (only)

    Act II: The Land of Sweets
    Clara and the Prince travel to the beautiful Land of Sweets, ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Prince's place until his return. He recounts for her how he had been saved from the Mouse King by Clara and transformed back into himself. In honor of the young heroine, a celebration of sweets from around the world is produced: chocolate from Spain, coffee from Arabia, tea from China, and candy canes from Russia all dance for their amusement; Marzipan shepherdesses perform on their flutes; Mother Ginger has her children, the Polichinelles, emerge from under her enormous hoop skirt to dance; a string of beautiful flowers perform a waltz. To conclude the night, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier perform a dance.

    presented by Lexington Children’s Theatre

    By Greg Banks.   With music by Victor Zupanc.   Based on the story by Carlo Collodi.

    From the moment Geppetto creates him from a stick of wood, Pinocchio dreams of being a real boy. But will the all-too-tempting delights of puppet shows and Playland be too much for Pinocchio? When Geppetto is swallowed by a whale, it is up to this little puppet to show his courage and prove his love for his Papa is real. This is a new, fast-paced, story-within-a-story version of the classic Pinocchio tale.

    World War II was a desperate and intense time for everyone, but it was especially devastating to the Jewish people living under Nazi rule. Through direct accounts from Anne Frank’s diary and the heartfelt retelling of her story by her father, Otto, this production offers an engaging and accessible approach to one of history’s darkest chapters. The courage of Anne Frank and her family is the story of the strength of the human spirit in the most challenging times.
