  • Driveway Entry Policy

  • Effective Date: 16 June 2025
    Issued by: J.CO Logistics
Applies to: All drivers operating under the Woolworths Online Contract
Scope: Residential delivery access involving private property/driveways

    1. Purpose

This policy outlines the conditions under which a driver may enter a residential driveway following Linfox’s June 2025 guidance update. It aims to uphold safety, property protection, and professional decision-making across all shifts.

Driveway entry remains an exception, not a routine practice.

    2. General Rule

Residential driveway entry is only permitted when all specific conditions below are met.
It is not to be used for convenience or to save time.

    3. Permitted Entry Conditions

Drivers may only enter a driveway if all the following apply:

    1. No legal, safe on-street parking is available within 50 metres of the address.
    2. The driveway can be accessed and exited without risk, including:

    • No fences, poles, walls, or garden beds at risk of impact
    • No reversing into tight or obstructed spaces

    3. The driveway is flat and wide enough for safe truck movement.
    4. The customer has not requested to avoid driveway entry in delivery notes.
    5. The address is not flagged in the J.CO Hazard Register for prior damage.

    4. Non-Negotiable Restrictions

    • Do not enter a driveway if delivery instructions explicitly say not to.
▸ You must check instructions for your next drop before leaving the current drop.
    • If it's a tight squeeze – don’t enter.
    • If flagged as not safe in the Driveway Register – don’t enter.

    5. Mandatory Photo Approval

    Before entering any residential driveway:

    • You must check the Driveway Register and search the delivery address
    • If marked as safe, proceed to enter driveway.
    • If marked as unsafe, find an alternative safe location to park, and call the customer to advise.

    6. If Damage Occurs

If you hit or damage anything (even minor):

    1. Stop immediately.
    2. Take multiple clear photos of the damage and surrounding area.
    3. Contact your J.CO Logistics supervisor immediately via WhatsApp or phone.
    4. Inform the customer if they are present, and remain respectful.
    5. Failure to report any damage may result in termination by Linfox or disciplinary action by J.CO Logistics, regardless of fault.

    7. Final Reminders

    • Use sound judgment — driveway entry is not to be used as a shortcut.
    • Spot checks may be conducted by J.CO, Linfox, or Woolworths.
    • Any breach of this policy without valid justification will result in disciplinary action.

This policy exists to protect you, our equipment, and our contractual relationship with Linfox.

    8. Driver Acknowledgment

By signing below, I acknowledge I have read, understood, and agree to follow the Driveway Entry Policy and all related reporting procedures.
