  • Fair Futures: Regional Roadshows on Ethnicity Pay and Progression in Healthcare

  • A series of regional roadshows, taking place across the country between 18 September and 27 November 2025, will bring together NHS and healthcare leaders, managers, EDI professionals, clinicians, researchers, and advocates to confront and address the current state of racial inequalities within the NHS workforce.

Despite ongoing initiatives, data shows that staff from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds continue to face disproportionate barriers to career progression. Persistent pay gaps also remain a concern: NHS England’s report on the diversity pay gap for 2023/24 reveals that ethnic minority staff — overall — are paid less on average than their White colleagues.

Throughout these events, which will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive workshops, participants will explore data trends, research and impactful strategies for improvement. Case studies will not only highlight the challenges, but also the actions that can be taken to make the NHS a fairer and more equitable workplace for individuals from all ethnic backgrounds.

Join us as we transition from data to action, from action to impact, and from impact to accountability.
