Approved by: Jamie Ortiz, Director
Applies to: All Drivers and Operational Staff
Scope: All contracts including Woolworths Online (Microlise-enabled)
1. Purpose
This policy outlines the mandatory compliance obligations required at J.CO Logistics. It supports regulatory enforcement, safe operational conduct, and accountability across our workforce.
Compliance breaches are treated as legal or contractual violations, and will result in disciplinary action separate from performance-based assessments.
2. Compliance vs Performance
- Compliance = Meeting legal and safety obligations (e.g. fatigue rules, visa limits, road laws)
- Performance = Achieving KPIs (e.g. on-time delivery, customer service)
Compliance breaches are not measured by KPIs and carry non-resetting escalation pathways.
3. Compliance Modules & Escalations
All compliance failures are logged via the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) process. Each breach is escalated independently and carries throughout employment (no expiry/reset).
3.1 Fatigue Management Compliance
- 13-Hour Fatigue Limit – Must not exceed 13 hours total shift length
- 5-Hour Break Logging – Mandatory 5-hour rest break in Woolies Go
- Expected Compliance: 100% (13hr), 98% (5hr)
Escalation:
1. Verbal Discussion
2. Final Verbal Warning
3. 48hr Stand Down
4. 48hr Stand Down + Written Warning (Director Notified)
5. 48hr Stand Down + Final Written Warning (Director Notified)
6. Termination
3.2 Pre-Shift Compliance
Fleetio Pre-Start – Must be completed before driving
Fridge Temperature Form – Must be submitted before loading (2–7°C required)
Expected Compliance: 99% (Pre-Start), 100% (Fridge)
Escalation: Same as fatigue
3.3 Visa Hour Compliance
Visa Conditions – Drivers must not exceed weekly or daily limits set by visa subclass
Expected Compliance: 100%
Escalation: Same as fatigue
Any breach may result in immediate stand down.
4. Microlise Telematics Monitoring
All Woolworths trucks use Microlise AI-based monitoring. Behaviours monitored include:
- Speeding
- Mobile phone use while driving

- Sleeping or low awareness signals

5. Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR)
