Family Profile

Parents or legal guardians must complete an application with an entry fee. The child needs to show their Navajo Tribal Enrollment Number, or if it's a newborn, the parent's number. These documents can be uploaded or scanned for verification.

Baby Contest Criteria

Each contestant must pay a $30 entry fee. We accept money orders, cashier's checks, and credit card payments (with a 4% processing fee).

Panel of Judges

Contestants will perform in front of four judges at the event. Judges will use a score sheet and rate performances on a scale from 1 to 5 based on Appearance, Theme, Public Reaction, Coordination, Vocal Skills, Independence, Introduction, Talent Mastery, Originality, and Overall Performance. Each contestant has five minutes to showcase a Traditional Skill or Talent.

Resolution of Complaints or Issues

The Navajo Nation Baby Contest winners are final. If there are any complaints, your signed form of good sportsmanship will be used as a reference.

We are not responsible for any injuries to a child during a performance or for any contributions provided.

The sponsor is only responsible for hosting the Baby Contest. It is the parents' or guardians' responsibility to organize their child’s participation in the Navajo Nation Fair Parade.

Sportsmanship Consent

- Agree that my child should participate in the 2025 Navajo Nation Baby Contest and display good sportsmanship.
- Have read and understood the application form, agree to the rules, and will follow all requirements.
- Know that breaking contest rules may lead to losing points or disqualification.
- Will show good sportsmanship to other contestants, their families, friends, event coordinators, judges, and volunteers.
- Will accept the judges' decisions and congratulate other contestants after the contest.

I also give up the right to review or approve the final versions of any videos or materials created.
