GENERAL CAMP CONSENT (ALL Campers Regardless of Age):
Camp Rakas Safety & Conduct Guidelines
To ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for everyone, all campers, counselors, staff, and visitors must follow these rules at all times. A camper may lose camp privileges leading up to removal from camp if rules are broken.
1. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited at camp:
*Weapons of any kind (including firearms, or any item used to threaten
or harm others
*Fireworks or explosives
*Alcohol, Illegal drugs, controlled substances, smoking materials, vaping devices, or tobacco products
* No outside food or drinks (other than water) are allowed inside tents
* No Pets or animals (unless pre-approved service animals)
* No cell phone usage during camp. Phones may only be used to take pictures.
Any prohibited items found at camp will be confiscated. Possession of these items may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from camp. The camp administration reserves the right to search belongings if there is reasonable suspicion of rule violations.
2. Bullying & Hazing Policy
Camp is a place where everyone should feel safe and included.
* Bullying of any kind is not tolerated. This includes physical, verbal, social, or online behavior that hurts, threatens, or excludes others.
*Hazing, initiation rituals, or any activity that humiliates, pressures, or harms another camper are strictly prohibited.
*Encouraging or participating in bullying or hazing is also not allowed.
*Any camper who experiences or witnesses bullying or hazing should report it to a counselor or camp staff member immediately.
*Incidents of bullying or hazing will result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from camp.
3. Campsite Boundaries & Visiting Rules
Campers may not enter another campsite without permission. This includes all campsites, including the Lake and the Dragonfly property. Before visiting another campsite:
* Obtain permission from your own counselor.
* Receive approval from the counselor of the campsite you wish to visit.
* Respect the privacy, space, and belongings of others.
* Return to your campsite at the agreed time.
* No camper is allowed to enter a tent of the opposite sex
Entering another campsite without permission outside of established hours is not allowed and may result in loss of privileges and may lead up to removal from camp.
4. General Expectations
All campers and counselors are expected to:
*Follow counselor and staff instructions.
*Treat others with kindness and respect.
*Respect camp property and the natural environment.
*Help maintain a safe and positive camp community.
These guidelines are in place to protect everyone and ensure camp remains a fun, safe, and welcoming experience for all.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask a staff member before proceeding.
Health Rules
Health Screening Upon Arrival
All campers must pass a health screening upon arrival at camp. Camp staff reserve the right to deny admission to any camper who exhibits symptoms of illness.
Do Not Attend if Sick
Campers should not attend camp if they are experiencing symptoms of illness.
Illness During Camp
If a camper becomes ill while at camp:
The camper will be evaluated by the camp’s medical staff.
Parents/guardians are required to pick up their child within 24 hours of notification by the medical team.
Parental Cooperation & Camp Discipline Policy
Camp organizers respectfully request that parents/guardians emphasize to their children the importance of following all camp rules and policies.
By registering for camp, campers and their parents/guardians acknowledge and fully understand that compliance with camp rules, instructions, and established discipline standards is mandatory.
Failure to follow the rules, orders, or behavioral expectations established by the camp may result in dismissal at the discretion of the Camp Directors.
If a camper (or participating adult, if applicable) is dismissed:
Parents/guardians will be notified immediately.
Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging prompt pick-up.
The camper (or adult participant) must leave the camp premises as directed.
The camp reserves the right to enforce all policies in order to maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all participants.
