  • 2025-26 Dates (select one):

    • March 2-4, 2026; 9am-1pm
      (Registration closed February 6th)
    • June 9-11, 2026; 9am-1pm
      (Registration closes May 14th)

    Note: If you register for a training date after the registration has closed, you may not be approved and able to attend. All trainings will be held via zoom. Attendees must attend all days of training. 

    *TPITOS trainings in the spring of 2026 will be hosted by Pyramid Model Consortium (PMC) with a PMC trainer. These events are open to individuals from all states. Individuals from Iowa wishing to attend should use the form below to register at no cost. Spots are limited. Registrants will be added to the course in the order in which they register if they have met the prerequisites.

    Description: The Teaching Pyramid Infant-Toddler Observation Scale (TPITOS) for Infant-Toddler Classrooms is an assessment instrument designed to measure the fidelity of implementation of practices associated with the Pyramid Model in center-based infant and toddler care settings. This training will prepare coaches to use the TPITOS tool with fidelity while observing teachers. Participants are required to pass a reliability test before receiving their certificate. 

    Prerequisites:

    • Participants must have attended the Infant/Toddler EC-PBIS Module Series
    • Participants Must be working with or for a program that is implementing program-wide EC-PBIS (please contact your PD organization if you have questions)

    Note: If you do not meet these prerequisites, you will recieve a follow-up email and may not be approved for the training or selected training dates.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Learn about the TPITOS, a measure for examining the level of support provided by classroom teachers for infant/toddler social-emotional learning
    • View and score video examples of teacher behaviors that support the social-emotional development of infants and toddlers
    • Have the opportunity to meet certification standards for carrying out and scoring TPITOS assessments.
