WE ARE LOOKING FOR 100 PEOPLE of different ages, backgrounds, beliefs, professions, and passions to take part in Atlas Guimarães, a performance directed by Ana Borralho & João Galante, to be presented at the Grande Auditório Francisca Abreu on September 21st, as part of the 20th Anniversary of Centro Cultural Vila Flor.
About Atlas
100 people on stage. A landscape of individuals asserting their place in society – both individually and collectively. This is how a kind of atlas is built: a map of togetherness and the social fabric of Guimarães. A silent revolution.
The performance project Atlas stems from the belief that art plays an active role in society – as advocated by Joseph Beuys with his ideas that “everyone is an artist” and “we are the revolution”, envisioning the concept of social sculpture.
The piece is created in the form of a workshop.
The project is open to everyone, with or without stage experience.
