Participation Criteria

The Lucky Bunch Social Program

Persons must meet the following criteria to participate in The Lucky Bunch Social Program: 

• Diagnosed with, impacted, or affected by a disability 
• Demonstrates basic communication skills 
• Expresses a desire to be at the program and to interact with peers 
• Motivated to learn new skills 
• Possesses sufficient emotional maturity and stability to participate in aspects of the program 
• Demonstrates the ability to accept and follow reasonable rules and expectations 
• Interacts respectfully with peers and staff 
• Capable of maintaining behavior which does not impede oneself or others from fully participating in all aspects of community activities 
• Does not pose a danger to oneself or others 
• Ability to toilet and manage personal hygiene independently 
• Ability to ambulate while exploring the community 
• Sign Program Waiver & The Lucky Bunch Rules & Expectations

The Lucky Bunch Social Program is open to members meeting the above criteria regardless of socioeconomic status, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or national origin.

Rules & Expectations

• I will treat members and staff with respect and kindness
• I will make an effort to stay safe
• If I decide I don’t want to participate in an event or class I have booked, I will cancel 24 hours ahead of time so someone else can book the event or class
• I will stay home from the program if I am sick and notify the manager or admin of the program ahead of time
• If someone in the program is making me uncomfortable, I will tell a staff member about it
• I will be honest when communicating with others
• I will make sure I have eaten and that my physical needs are taken care of before coming to a class or social event
• I will respect other's space and personal boundaries
• If an instructor tells me something, I will make an effort to listen
• I will follow all venue rules, especially in a place I don't normally go

If a manager or supervisor finds that someone does not exhibit characteristics of the participation criteria, or is not making an effort to follow the Rules & Expectations, we find it within our right to revoke their access to the The Lucky Bunch Social Program after 3 warnings.
