2025-2026 Bright Idea Grant Form

Thank you for your interest in submitting an application for the SAISD Foundation's Bright Idea Grant. Awards are up to $5,000. As the nonprofit partner of SAISD we are honored to raise funds to invest in our talented educators. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the early Spring 2025 semester. The last day to submit an application is March 10.

Grant Criteria:

Project should be innovative or new for your campus/grade level/department.
Project should aim, but is not required, to help SAISD reach one of the SAISD. Board Goals:
- Improve reading and writing outcomes
- Improve math outcomes
- Improve college readiness
- Improve social-emotional readiness
Overall project budget can be over $5,000, however, your grant requests cannot exceed $5,000.
The budget should include one-time expense(s) and project should be sustainable.
Educators are encouraged to partner with additional teachers and staff for the project. Educators can be at two separate campuses, and both educators would be eligible for a $5,000 grant each.

In submitting this grant, I acknowledge the following:

I understand that all materials and supplies become the property of SAISD and of the campus designated on this application. If I get reassigned to a new campus, I must notify the SAISD Foundation, and together we will discuss options for the grant award.
I understand that if a grant is awarded, the recipient must submit two summary updates including but not limited to, pictures or video, once before winter break 2025 and again by the end of the spring semester 2026. Failure to do so will be grounds for disqualification for future grants.
I acknowledge that funds must be used by December 15, 2026. Any unused funds will be reclaimed by SAISD Foundation. If funds have been deposited with the campus, any unused funds will be relinquished to the school.
I understand I will be responsible for submitting a final online evaluation form for this project after the project has been fully implemented for more than one semester.
