  • Do you have a capital project on the horizon?

The Climate-Ready Infrastructure Service (CRIS) connects Canadian communities with free support from climate experts to integrate climate resilience into infrastructure projects.

With expert planning and guidance, your community can align its most pressing climate concerns with service-level expectations.

The CRIS project is delivered by the Canadian Urban Institute with funding from the Government of Canada at no cost to your community, no matching funds and no barriers to apply. CRIS is designed to remove the hurdles that often prevent smaller communities from planning and building resilient, low-carbon infrastructure.

CRIS experts will roll up their sleeves and embed as a member of your team—from technical knowledge to council presentations. This is practical, on-the-ground help to shape, strengthen and communicate your infrastructure plans.

The CRIS initiative empowers Canadian communities with less than 30,000 residents to turn ideas into action, supporting projects that address:

    • Climate impacts
    • Energy emissions
    • Long-term service resilience
