  • Grief is a deep experience that touches every community, and young people are no exception. Whether facing the loss of a child or young person, or supporting them as they grieve, churches are often places where grief is expressed, held, and shared.

In these moments, the Church has a unique opportunity to be a compassionate, steady presence offering hope, comfort, and practical support rooted in faith.

These training sessions will help us reflect on how we, as the Church, can respond to grief with sensitivity, wisdom, and care as we help children, young people and their families go through this dificult time. We will explore grief within a Church setting: offering insight, practical guidance, and open discussion. Each session will include input from individuals across the island of Ireland who bring personal and professional experience in journeying with grief.

You are invited to attend one or both of these thoughtful and engaging sessions:

Wednesday 24th September, 7-9pm – How a Church might respond to the death of a child or young person in their community.

Tuesday 30th September, 7-9pm – How a Church might respond to a child or young person who is grieving.

Both sessions will take place at Edgehill and will also be available online via Zoom.

Doors will open at 6:45pm for refreshments.

A link will be shared closer to the time for those joining online.
