D-Prize is looking for a freelance writer based in Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania for a short-term project to write a new document as part of our competition materials. This is a remote contract (sometime in August), and will be compensated at $1,000 USD for what we think will be two weeks of work, including editing based on feedback from D-Prize.
About the Project
Our challenge documents outline the critical problems we want applicants to solve, and they’re key to attracting bold, capable entrepreneurs from around the world, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa.
This year, we’re introducing a new challenge. Your role: make the description clear, compelling, and accessible to a global audience.
Here is an example of an existing challenge document, which has a more academic tone. We are hoping you can deliver a tone that will appeal more to our applicants.
What You’ll Do
- Write a compelling ~1,000–1,500 challenge document based on research we will provide
- Improve clarity, tone, and accessibility for our target audience
- Incorporate team feedback from D-Prize staff and edit
- Deliver final copy in Google Docs by the end of the project
What We're Looking For
- Top quality writer with a clear, engaging tone
- Ability to work quickly and take feedback
- Familiarity with D-Prize's mission is a plus
- Experience in social impact a major plus
- Based in Kenya, Uganda or Tanzania
