Congratulations on taking the first steps in obtaining your operating authority. As part of having your Authority, you are also required to maintain records to comply with DOT regulations.
One of those files are your Driver's Qualification File. You are required to maintain a Driver's Qualification file for each driver for 3 years. It is also recommended to get Motor Vehicle Records and Background checks at least yearly to ensure there are no pending issues that can impact the driver from performing task such as driving a truck.
As part of Box Truck Shawty's Lease-on Program, we require that a Driver's Qualification File is obtained for each driver that will participate in our program.
This includes driver's that you hire during the lease program.
We charge $175 per driver qualification file. This fee includes doing a Motor Vehicle Driver Record and standard Background Check on your drivers.
It is common for to have both a Motor Vehicle Driver record and a Background check on their drivers as part of being in compliance.
As part of your Driver's Qualification File fee, we will work with you to prepare the files from each driver.
As part of your file preparation, we will check Motor Vehicle Record and inform you of any violations as well as the Background Check report.
Upon submission of payment, we will need to receive Authorization from your driver to pull their Motor Vehicle Record and Background Check report.
A legal document will be emailed to the driver to sign. Please ensure that they sign it so that they can begin filling out information needed for their Driver's Qualification File.
